May is fully booked with 4 exhibitions and I'm busy making enough pieces for them all. But for the last few days I couldn't help but experiment a bit with a new technique I've been wanting to try for ages. I came across an e-book about Glass Fusing with Powders and was hooked. The book is written by a Swedish glass artist Lena Beckeus and I can highly recommend it (for glass artists that is....as you will need a kiln :)) ...easy to follow if you haven't done anything like this before and no need to make same things as the author... Below a photo of my first few samples... Still needing refined, but for a first attempt I'm not too unhappy :)
In addition to all the above I'm also eager to get going with making some new bits of jewellery I learned on the course last week. Glass and silver clay riveted together... Here's a few photos from the course...the pieces I made and the 'makers' on the course with our tutor Erna Piechna to the left. A good few days with lots of fun...
