Originally from Finland, Carola moved to the UK in October 2002. 10 years later in October 2012 she graduated with a degree in Art and Design from Colchester School of Art and is now establishing herself as a Glass Artist making hand crafted Kiln Formed Glass pieces in her studio in Bury St Edmunds. All designs are her own and each piece is unique.
Artist Statement
As an artist I am influenced by the world around me, what I see, feel and experience. You can sense both my Finnish background and my life in Bury St Edmunds and the UK in my glass art.
Nature and architecture are my main sources of inspiration. The distinct seasonal changes, the northern lights, the forests and the lakes in Finland takes on the English heritage and architecture to create unique glass pieces with individual designs.
